With the final ACO (Accountable Care Organization) rules published by CMS in
October of 2011, many medical practices will be now be faced with needing to
understand how ACOs work. In addition, physicians and practices will need to
make choices about which ACOs are the best fit -- which would be the best for
them to participate in. This very practical session will provide a basic
understanding of ACO elements, structures and economic forces. Attendees will
learn how to evaluate a proposed ACO agreement and how to determine the best
alignment strategies. For practices interested in establishing their own,
hospital independent, ACO, they will learn how to get started and where to find
additional resources.
