The 2000 Census provided information on changing patterns of immigration and internal migration within the United States. As the population shifts to be diverse in more places than ever before, medical offices will need to be ready to meet the needs of a new population of patients. Since more than two-thirds of the counties in our country today have measurable minority populations, even the small community office or clinic will need to be among those making adjustments to reach out to these changing populations.
