Moving toward true patient satisfaction is more than realizing that we are in an environment where patients are expecting more service and, in fact, beginning to read the report cards that are being published nationally. It means making a commitment to change the culture within a physician?s organization at every level. It requires a shift in physician attitudes from one of the complete authority figure to one that allows and, indeed, requires patient involvement as a co-manager of care.
